I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong! I honestly had never had this problem before and it was driving me crazy.
I had been in business for myself as a very successful spiritual psychotherapist for a couple of decades, and then as a spiritual life coach assisting people to improve relationships, harmonize the areas of their lives, and navigate and evolve through some pretty rough ascension challenges. I loved my work, my clients made amazing progress working with me….and then it suddenly dried up. I mean DRIED UP!
And I couldn’t imagine what was going on. I tried offering teleclasses, gave talks at local bookstores, put ads in the alternative magazines and periodicals, passed out business cards. Nothing! Nada! Zilch!
Wow, was that ever a discouraging and confusing period in my professional life! But I kept creating online courses, writing books, planning workshops, etc, etc.. But the client faucet and the money faucet were turned OFF. I felt awful that I couldn’t find people to help and couldn’t bring in more money for my family. I hated how that felt and kept trying to come up with new ideas for my business.
But nobody was buying my books, signing up for my online courses or my workshops, and very few private clients were trickling in……the energy had dried up.
Now, part of what was going on was a family crisis of monumental proportions. We were all in pain. Conflict was ongoing. I was up to my eyeballs just keeping the faith that we’d eventually get through this, healed and whole again, if you know what I mean. So on one level, who the heck had time to look for where my “cheese” had been moved to? I was dealing with an awakening crisis that was kicking my butt and it kept me very busy.
At the same time, I knew that I was being prepared for new work. I just knew it. I could feel it, intuit it. I know how the spiritual progress gig works now. Right? So I understood that if I paid attention, asked for assistance and kept moving toward feeling good, it would eventually come clear. And it did….
You see, I’ve been there, so I know how you feel! I was caught in the whirlpool of doing, doing, doing with little-to-no results in my business and not knowing where to turn next to get a client or two. I was in the process of shifting my business from seeing clients in my office, to a phone-based coaching business with my clients coming from all over the world via the Internet, and not knowing how to bring in more income.
I wanted to make this change and yet here I was….frustrated, discouraged and not knowing what to do to connect with the people I knew needed my help… and get money flowing again. And I was evolving personally and spiritually at a very rapid pace, which was very stressful in and of itself, if you’re offering any resistance, which…being human, I was!
And all of this professional ‘being in the doldrums’ stuff came after being highly successful in my business for quite a long time…our businesses do evolve and change direction along with us. Did you know that? Maybe you didn’t. It wasn’t clear to me for a while.
Well, eventually I did get answers—I was led to and inspired to hire a great coach, discovered very quickly that I was already aligned with new work and just needed help identifying it, turned things around in my coaching business, got busy helping more people right away—I mean it was as if they had been just waiting for me!…. and multiplied my income to a great level…all very quickly!
